The Full Story
At just sixteen the culinary story for our Chef Patron begins in this very building. Henry started working in the then 'Market Bar and Bistro' washing up and waiting on tables. In quieter moments Bill the owner would show him some cooking skills that sparked an interest for life.
Now fifteen years later after having trained and cooked in some of the finest restaurants that Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and South Petherton have to offer; Henry has now returned with his family, to the town he grew up in become Chef Patron of Alfredo's inspired by Alfred their son and the Italian holidays they have shared.
Now firmly settled back in the rolling hills of Somerset, Henry is pouring all of his passion, experience and know how, into creating a truly local Restaurant, Bakery and Bar. Taking the finest local produce and turning it into delicious sharing plates and creating an environment where guests can truly relax and enjoy great cooking, drinking and a relaxed service.
Handmade sharing pasta's, gourmet pizza's produced by Enrico, beautiful Sunday lunches, a bar filled with chilled Italian whites, bold Italian reds and all the drinks you would expect to enjoy on the perfect Italian holiday like Aperol spritz's, Campari's, Limoncello's, Prosecco and so much more.
All of this and you get an amazing bakery making authentic rustic breads, freshly made sandwiches and delicate pastries with Italian coffees in the perfect place to meet friends and family.
